HOW THE HOUSE CAPTAINS AND VICE CAPTAINS ARE CHOSEN EACH YEAR
The captains and vice captains nominate themselves for the position in term 4 each year. The children in each house vote for which of the nominated year 5 and year 4 children they would like as their captains and vice captains the following year. Once elected, the house captains and vice captains receive their badges at assembly in term 1 of the following year.
Responsibilities include:
- setting an example of teamwork,
- respect and excellence in the Meadow Heights Primary School community,
- collecting house points each week,
- assisting staff and children on house activity days in which children participate in a number of different activities- Zumba, sport, ipads, computers, art, board games,
- help with the running of the school concerts and school sports carnivals,
- promoting enthusiasm across the school for the house they represent.
At the end of each Year, the House Team with the highest accumulated points for that school year receives the House Team Winning Cup (which is displayed in the office area glass display cabinet).
