Opportunities for students across the school to take on key leadership responsibilities at Meadow Heights Primary School are as follows:
School Captains represent the beliefs and values of Meadow Heights Primary School. They are representative of the school and the student body. They are recognised across the school, and as such, have greater accountability for all their actions. They are responsible for tasks including preparing the agenda for school assemblies, running school assemblies and presenting certificates or awards. The school captains also greet guests to our school and speak at a range of school functions and events, including school council. They become part of the JSC.
The House Captains are responsible for assisting with different events across the school. They help younger students engage in sports, and other activities and may host lunchtime events, aimed at developing student wellbeing.
Each of our House Captains represents a particular house in our school. The houses are Shankland (Red house), Paringa (Green house), Mitchell (Yellow house) and Tarcoola (Blue house).
Along with our School Captains, the House Captains become part of JSC. They model and promote our school values of being responsible, respectful, proud and excellent and help decide on fundraising events.
