Remote Learning


ALL PARENTS NEED TO HAVE FLEXIBUZZ TO COMMUNICATE WITH TEACHERS AND FOR THE SCHOOL TO STAY CONNECTED WITH PARENTS

The first step is to download the FlexiBuzz app to your smart phone, tablet/iPad from the Apple store or Google Play.
Then Log-in

Open FlexiBuzz and register and log-in.

Find our school

Click the ‘Find’ icon and type Meadow Heights Primary School into the search bar. Now select it. You will now see all of our school boxes.

Tick on

Click on the grey tick beside our school box and add your child’s classroom box.

Your will be asked for the code/password supplied above.

When the tick turns green, you’re connected.

                                                          

Please add the Office Box as well – there are no passwords for this.

If you do not have a smart phone or ipad, you can use FlexiBuzz online through an internet browser. The address is www.flexibuzz.com.au

TIPS FOR REMOTE (HOME) LEARNING


Set up a learning space at home
  
In your home or the place you are staying, you’ll need a space that you feel comfortable to focus, learn and be in. Ideally, it will have minimal distractions and allow your child to complete their work.


Take advantage of students being at home
 
include real life learning activities such as, cooking or gardening.

Below is a suggested timetable for how you and your children to use.

9:00–9:10

Talk about what is coming up for the day.

Have your child draw a face for how they are feeling about their day.

Have your child select which activities they would like to do for the day from the Remote Learning Pack supplied by the classroom teacher (also available above).

9:10-9:30

Children read a book. Children can also listen to a book from the website suggestion list below.

9:30-10:00

Complete a reading activity from your child’s Remote Learning Pack

10:00-10:10

Fruit & Brain break time

Eat a piece of fruit and have a quick move around (see list below for brain brrak activity)

10:10-11:10

Complete a writing activity from your child’s Remote Learning Pack

11:10-11:30

RECESS BREAK

11:30-11:45

Counting activities (see list below)

11:45–12:45

Complete a maths activity from your child’s Remote Learning Pack

12:45–1:30

Complete a Specialist activity (The Arts, STEM, PE or LOTE) from your child’s Remote Learning Pack

1:30–2:30

LUNCH BREAK

2:30–3:15

Complete a SHARE/Inquiry activity from your child’s Remote Learning Pack

3:15–3:30

Check in with your child about their day.

What was their favourite activity for the day?

Ask them to draw a smiley face for how their day was.
