Welcome to the Environmental Action Team at Meadow Heights Primary School!
Term 4 has well and truly begun! 4 weeks in and there are plenty of goings on in the garden!
Term 4 - Week 3: In in Science in term 4 the EAL students have been learning about push and forces. And what better way to learn than by doing many of those actions in a gardening session!
Term 4 - Week 2:
Garden Club has been helping to mulch the courtyard gardens. Mulching helps to keep weeds down and retain soil moisture, which is great news for the worms!
Although it's hard to see, there is a Vietnamese mint and two Lemon Balms in the bottom left corner, here.
Term 3 - Week 7-10
Waste Wise Wednesday
At Meadow Heights Primary School we are trying to be as waste wise as possible!
In term 3 each Yr level went into the Waste Wise Wednesday competition to reduce their waste and thus win the coveted Golden Garden Gnome.
Well done to the Year 2s!
Term 3 - Week 7-10
At Meadow Heights Primary School we are trying to be as Waste Wise as possible! Part of being Waste Wise is by composting our food scraps. Not only does this reduce the amount of waste we make, but it also gives the worms food to create the best soil conditioner in the world!
Term 3 - Week 7-10
In Science, the Year 3s and 4s have been learning about what soil is made from.
In this picture we are testing what kind of soil seeds prefer to grow in.
